The size of a large sparrow, the elf owl is the smallest
owl in North America. Only 5 inches long, it has a
wingspan of 15 inches and a really short tail. Its white
"eyebrows" arch above its yellow eyes giving it as
highly animated appearance. They are most abundant in
Arizona and California.
